Marisa Markowitz LMSW
Marisa Markowitz (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T), with a degree from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work. Marisa provides a warm, non-judgmental space for her clients, using an eclectic approach that blends evidence-based practices with creative outlets to meet the unique needs of each individual. She specializes in treating depression, anxiety, addiction, personality disorders, life transitions, body image, and sexuality issues, with a focus on the mind-body connection.
Marisa frequently incorporates elements of dance, music, poetry, and art into her sessions, helping clients explore their emotions through creative expression. She is trained in Motivational Interviewing and has extensive experience working with individuals struggling with addiction. Marisa’s therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques to support clients in achieving personal growth and healing.
