Anthony Wilhite (they/them), M.Ed., M.A., MHC-LP, is a Mental Health Counselor at Therapy Insights Practice. They earned their degrees from Columbia University and have specialized training in strength-based, multicultural counseling. Anthony has extensive clinical experience working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ adults facing challenges such as depression, anger management, self-doubt, and complex trauma. Their therapeutic approach is relational and liberation-focused, emphasizing the importance of self-exploration and understanding the impact of social systems and relationships on overall well-being.

Anthony’s work centers around empowering individuals to rediscover their voice, unlearn harmful programming, and advocate for themselves and their communities. As a Black, queer, Afro-traditional spiritualist, they bring a deeply personal understanding of the challenges marginalized communities face. Their lived experience navigating harsh environments, coupled with their expertise as a therapist, allows them to guide clients in both acknowledging past harm and envisioning new possibilities for growth and resilience.

With a firm belief in blending personal wisdom with professional knowledge, Anthony supports clients in recognizing how systemic oppression and interpersonal experiences shape their daily lives. They help clients examine how they are routinely impacted by these forces and explore their role in creating personal and collective change. Through this process, Anthony fosters a space where clients can reclaim their autonomy, heal from trauma, and redefine their narratives in a way that aligns with their true selves.

As a therapist, Anthony is committed to helping clients cultivate compassion, curiosity, and courage as they navigate their healing journey. Their work is rooted in the belief that balance and harmony are achievable through intentional self-reflection and meaningful connection. They are dedicated to providing a safe and affirming space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they work toward personal transformation and empowerment.
